Intro

The Cheeks Bend Bluff View trail is located on a 800 acre tract of land alongside the scenic Duck River in Columbia,Tn. It is a two mile round trip out and back trail.

Trail Head

The trail head is located on Cheeks Bend road. The road is dirt and a little rough.

To access the trail head: The trail head can be hard to spot. You will drive up on this sign:

Facing this sign, look to your right across the dirt road and you will see the trail entrance. There is a kiosk near the entrance but not visible until you enter the woods.

Difficulty

I rate this a medium because it can have some tricky footing in some areas.

Hiking the Trail

It's a pretty simple hike. The trail is marked with blue blazes on the trees. Just follow them and you'll be fine. It's straight to begin with and then makes a loop at the end. If you want to see the cave near the end of the trail just look for a tree marked with three blue blazes. When you see it just look north and you will see another tree marked with a big blue blaze. Walk towards that tree and you will be standing on the roof of the cave. Just walk down the rocks there and you can see the cave entrance. I do not know the rules regarding entering the cave, so you may want to check if you plan on going in it. After that you can just finish the loop and head back.

Scenery

You will get great views of outcropping, rock formations, and a great view of the Duck River valley from atop the bluffs on the trail.

Trail Maintenance
